Ivica Marušević, double bassist

He was born in 1970 in Novi Sad in a musical family.

He studied at the Academy of Music in Zagreb (Prof. J. Novosel) and the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad (Prof. K. Ivanović, N. Ignjatović), where he obtained his master's degree. He attended masteclasess with Rinat Ibrahimov and Jean-Marc Rulez.
During studies and later, he actively participates in the work of the Camerata Academica chamber orchestra, the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra, performing in: De Ysbreeker, Concertgebouw, De Doelen, Muzikverein...

As a member of numerous ensembles and chamber ensembles, he collaborates with renowned domestic and foreign artists and achieves notable performances at many important festivals in the country and abroad: NOMUS, BEMUS, KotorArt, J.MIRO FF Nits de musica, FESTIVAL MUSIQUE ACTUELLE Victoriaville... He has created numerous sound recordings, some of which were included on CD releases. He was a member of the Belgrade Philharmonic, NBO, and spent over ten seasons as solo double bassist in the SNP orchestra. From the founding of the VSO and the Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, he held the position of double bass leader until 2022, and the double bass group in the orchestra came from his class. He began teaching in 1998 at the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, where he is now a full professor.
