Dušan Toroman received a graduate degree in piano performance from the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. An interest in historical keyboard instruments brought him to Italy, where he studied fortepiano with Stefano Fiuzzi at the Imola Piano Academy and harpsichord with Maria Luisa Baldassari at the Conservatory “G. Rossini” in Pesaro. For many years he enjoyed the guidance of musicologist and harpsichordist Emilia Fadini, while also attending masterclasses of musicians such as Malcolm Bilson, Enrico Baiano, Jory Vinikour, Lidija Bizjak, Sergio Ciomei…
Winner of the Broadwood Harpsichord Competition (London), Tournoi International de Musique (Paris) and Concorso Internazionale Wanda Landowska (Ruvo di Puglia), Dušan maintains a lively concert activity that has brought him to France, England, Italy, Romania, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia... He has performed with ensembles “New Trinity Baroque” and “Arbor Dianae”, RTS Symphony Orchestra, SO “Stanislav Binički” and CO “Schlesinger” as a soloist in concerti by Bach, Sammartini, Haydn, Salieri, Mozart and Beethoven.
Due to his long-standing interest in vocal music, he has worked extensively as an accompanist and currently holds a position at the singing department of the Faculty of Arts in Kragujevac. He also works for the Belgrade Baroque Academy, the Austrian Baroque Academy and the Baroque Atelier of Marijana Mijanović.
