A graduate of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Serbia, Aleksandar Tasić honed his skills in master classes with such famous clarinettists as Ricardo Morales, Michel Arrignon and Jim Ognibene (Bass Clarinet in the Metropolitan Opera of New York).

A prizewinner of several competitions of the former Yugoslavia including the Jeunesses Musicales ’Laureats of Orpheus’ in 1998, he has also been honoured by the University in Novi Sad with an ‘Exceptional Award’ for his artistic activities. As a soloist, he has performed with Novosibirsk Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, Belgrade String Orchestra Dušan Skovran, Novi Sad Chamber Orchestra, Vojvodina Symphony Orchestra, Isidora Žebeljan Orchestra, Camerata Panonnica and the Montenegro Symphony Orchestra among others.

He has performed at some of the most important festivals in Serbia and abroad, including NOMUS, BEMUS, NIMUS, Les Classiques de Villars, Verbier Festival & Academy (Switzerland), Y4Y - Bangkok (Thailand), Schloss Elmau (Germany), Kotor-Art (Montenegro), Ljubljana Festival, Granada Music Festival, Mostar Spring Festival, Siena Summer Session for Music, Bregenzer Festspiele, A-Tempo (Montenegro) and Ohrid Summer Festival( North Macedonia).

From 2000 to 2006, he played in the Verbier Festival Orchestra (Switzerland) under such distinguished conductors such as James Levine, Zubin Mehta, Kent Nagano, Wolfgang Sawalisch, Valery Gergiev, Claudio Vandelli among others. 

Since 2006, he has been Principal Clarinet in Verbier Festival Chamber Orchestra under maestro Gabor Takacs-Nagy.

As a coach for clarinet and woodwinds of Verbier Festival Junior Orchestra since its launch in 2013, he has seen this orchestra evolve into one of the most intensive artist training programmes available to young musicians today.

Aleksandar has made recordings for TV and radio stations both in the country and abroad (RTS, BBC, ART TV, RAI, Netherlands Radio 4, Mezzo and Medici TV).

He teaches as the Professor of Clarinet at the Academy of Arts, University of Novi Sad, and Professor of Clarinet at FILUM, University of Kragujevac in Serbia.
